Vestry Building, Hinesburg

One of the oldest public buildings in Hinesburg, the 1837 Vestry building is said to be constructed of the timbers of the old congregation church and includes a large arched window, thought to be from the same building. The Vestry was underutilized for decades and ownership issues made the property transfer challenging, but the Community Center persisted, acquired the building in 2022, and immediately patched the failing room. Funds will be used for structural stabilization in advance of a larger rehabilitation project in the coming years.

1772 Grant Funds Awarded: $10,000
