The Rossi House, St. Johnsbury

Located on the corner of Fairbanks Drive and Belvidere Streets, this National Register property was built in 1868 on land owned by one of the founders of the St. Johnsbury Academy. Today, the Academy owns property on three sides of this property, making the Rossie House a strategically important location that would complete and unite the Academy campus. The Academy has recently purchased the building and is undertaking a complete renovation of all systems, including asbestos abatement, electrical wiring, plumbing, heating, ventilation, roof work, code updates including handicap accessibility, paint, and interior renovation. The building will be used for the Academy’s admissions office and dormitories. This grant of $50,000 will help put this landmark building into active use for the 21st century.
