Brainerd Memorial Library, North Danville

The North Danville Brainerd Memorial Library was constructed in 1937 to house both the school and the library and includes an indoor basketball court which is still used today.  The building is also the satellite location for the Danville Historical Society, houses the well-used community room, and is headquarters for the North Danville Community Club.   The grounds provide space for little league and events such as the North Danville 4th of July Celebration which is attended by hundreds of residents and neighbors.

The building is also the future home of a small business development pilot project developed in partnership with an organization called Grow with Google. Currently classes are being developed to instruct local business owners in internet security, marketing, ad creation and purchasing, web development, social media optimization, graphic design, business automation, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite products and more.

A Preservation Grant of $40,000 will support a full roof replacement, window restoration, foundation repair, and the installation of a new drainage system. The drainage system is necessary to ensure that an ADA accessible ramp can be properly reinstalled and remain in good working condition. The total project cost is estimated to be $65,000.
