Custer Sharp House, Londonderry

The Custer Sharp House, built c. 1840, was home to Bernadine Custer Sharp, a noted 20th-century American painter, illustrator, and WPA muralist. Custer Sharp died in 1991 and donated the house to the Londonderry Arts and Historical Society. In 1992, the Society began an extensive renovation on the farmhouse, which now houses the organization’s exhibit and archival space and as well as their large collection of Bernadine Custer Sharp’s artwork. Funding will support exterior repairs, painting, and window restoration.
